ILAB and VLSI Lab Policy


An account in these labs provides disk space, local and remote login access for the micro1.ilab.columbia.edu ... micro17.ilab.columbia.edu, and vlsi1.cisl.columbia.edu... vlsi18.cisl.columbia.edu hosts in 1218 and 1235 Mudd.

The disk quota on these accounts is about 500MB. It is a soft limit, which means is that you can use over 500MB for up to 7days before you must reduce your disk usage to below this limit. This limit is not set in stone, and I will change your limit for you if provide a good explanation as to why you need extra space.


You can determine how much space you are using by typing the following at the command prompt.

du -h --max-depth=1 /yourdirectoryname

Or you can see how much of your quota you have used up by typing

quota
