Submitting Technical Reports
In order to submit a document in the Technical Report series of the Department of Electrical
Engineering, please follow the steps indicated below. Note that submissions can only be initiated
by affiliated faculty and staff. Students should request their advisors to initiate their
submission.
Submission Procedure
- Prepare your manuscript as an Acrobat PDF file (.pdf).
- Email your file to . Indicate which of the
additional descriptors you would like assigned to your TR (see below). - Await confirmation from the Webmaster () that your file has been entered in the archive.
Your technical report will be assigned a number, and a uniform cover page
will be added to your manuscript prior to its inclusion on the web site. The
number will be indicated in your confirmation email. Please make sure that the technical report number is included in any citations
to this report.
Additional Descriptors
Note that in step 2, you have the option of indicating additional
descriptors for your TR. This enables you to indicate the sub-field
within which your TR lies. You may choose no, one, or multiple descriptors:
SP: Signal Processing
NC: Networking and Communications
IS: Integrated Systems
SB: Systems Biology
DP: Devices, Electromagnetics, Plasma Physics, Photonics
MI: Miscellaneous
IS: Integrated Systems
SB: Systems Biology
DP: Devices, Electromagnetics, Plasma Physics, Photonics
MI: Miscellaneous
Copyright
Note that the copyright of your technical report is assigned to The Trustees
of Columbia University. Of course, you retain full rights to your manuscript
for submission to journals and conferences, and whatever other use you may
deem appropriate. Assignment of copyright is necessary in order to allow the
department to freely redistribute your technical report.
